United States Senator

U.S. Senators represent their entire state in the federal legislative branch by drafting and voting on legislation, managing the federal budget, and providing “advice and consent” on presidential appointments and treaties. Each of the 50 states elects two senators to serve six-year terms, totaling 100 members.

Once elected, a U.S. Senator serves a six-year term and can seek re-election an unlimited number of times.
